They are dwarves. Everything just gets really big here in the tropics. Plus my plants get a daily watering for 180 minutes. I'll see if I can get some pictures this weekend.

Mine is a monster, 13 feet when it fruited. My dwarf brazilians are around 13-14 feet. So most dwarves here are gigantic.

I plant tapioca, yucca root, taro, ginger and papaya next to my bananas. Since this is the tropics, everything grows year round. My 14 foot dwarf bananas are gigantic so I don't think there any...

Lady Finger. 16 months from tissue culture to harvest. I let it sit for 4 days in my office. When I went back to work, it got so ripe, the skin started splitting.

Fruit isn't bad. It's tart...

Sorry the other one didn't make the trip. The Matt those ice creams came from is very prolific. In in the year and half since I planted it, it's fruited 3 times.

Fruit wise, you'll be much happier with Namwahs. They taste way better than ice creams.

These are fed a diet of strictly zoo compost and horse manure. They get watered automatically twice a day for 90 mins. Not sure about the weight difference between here and PR but compared to other...

4 Dwarf Brazilians are fruiting. They'll probably take 6 months to harvest because "winter" is around the corner in Hawaii. Wet season is starting...

Williams Hybrid. 4.5 months from flower to harvest. Bunch was approximately 65 lbs

ID this nana

It fruited on 26 June. I planted it 13 months ago as a tissue culture. The lable stated Lady Finger. The pstem is about 15 feet.

I didn't do anything with my garden for about 3 weeks. So yesterday I went to do some weeding and to my surprise, there are 3 flowering. The first one, a blue java that was harvested about 2 months...

I harvested this Dwarf Brazilian bunch but didn't have time to cut it down when it was ready. The birds had a feast! It was a huge bunch for a Brazilian.

Unless he sneaks them on the plane, the bananas will be confiscated at Honolulu Airport. He can buy bue javas at Foodland and Chinatown.

Everything slowed down a little bit. It took over 6 months to harvest the dwarf Brazilian bunch but I'll still take 60's to 70's over mainland winters!
