I used to leave any roots I could save on my corms until you showed us that you clean them to propagate. Do you use any fungicide at all?

I've never had to deal with BSV yet but it should be almost unavoidable with it predominately affecting balbisiana type plants and a tissue culture plant won't change that.

If you want some beautifully variegated bananas and avoid BSV you can buy variegated acuminata banana seeds online.

There were about 350 seeds. So far none have sprouted but I'm still waiting and hoping. I didn't taste them myself but Jim did (he harvested them all) and said they were not good. :) Braver than me....

it was the pstems which were shriveling up
maybe i needed to have them in coarse sand when i planted them out but i have not...

Your photo doesn't show enough detail but it would be concerning if the leaf blade edges are abnormal. Your decision to segregate it from the mat is probably a prudent move.
