![]() Yep, I guess you have seen enough of them to know. There were 2 ripe fruit when I cut it, so I sampled them. I measured one of the "average" size fruits and it was 15" long.

![]() First Double Mahoi. About 40 lbs. 19 months to flower, 4.5 to harvest. Single bunch, as this is the first.

![]() No this was from a local nursery Novelty Greens that does its own TC. Everything I've gotten from that company has been correct and they distribute all over Hawaii. Double Mahoi is one of the varieties they sell in pretty regular rotation.

![]() I might have to check my bunch scale. Perhaps fruit is much more dense in Hawaii. I know this much: when I put a bunch that size on my scale, it doesn't come close. I can't really tell how many hands are on the bunch, but for me a 10 hand Nam Wah bunch comes in at roughly 40lbs. I am not too familiar with Williams bunches. Get a weight on one fruit. Your bunches take much longer to fill so maybe they are denser.

![]() These are fed a diet of strictly zoo compost and horse manure. They get watered automatically twice a day for 90 mins. Not sure about the weight difference between here and PR but compared to other Namwahs in the area, my fingers and bunches have always been double the size of my neighbors. Maybe the organic ferts and lots of water made that difference.

![]() For a size reference, the tailgate the Namwahs are sitting on is a full size Toyota tundra.

![]() From a couple of days ago, I finally picked my bunch of California Gold after having already eaten a couple of fingers over the last week. We had about 35 nights of frost this past winter and all the leaves burned off. The bud was the first thing to emerge this spring so I left adjoining pups undisturbed to help nourish this bunch and it seems to have worked okay. I didn't weigh the bunch but estimate it at 35 pounds but that includes the male flower, etc.

![]() I forgot about this bunch of immature FHIA 18's. Took them down today and as you can see they were starting to rot on the top hands. Flavor is good but a little pithy in the center. Will make great banana pancakes and other cooked items.
I will be harvesting an immature bunch of Pisang Klotek in the next few days that the wind bent over a support yesterday. Then I have a bunch of DB that's almost ready to come down. When it rains it pours! ![]() ![]() |

maybe they are denser - they should be slightly less dense than water Quote:
can certainly explain the 31 lb difference.

![]() I see, this is just like when your buddy catches a fish and you weren't there and he didn't weight it. He just doubles the actual size when he tells you how big it was!
