Default Typical height for a Dwarf Namwah banana to fruit?
Hi, I was wondering if a certain height or other indicator that its time for the Dwarf Namwah variety to fruit. I know I've planted my in the an not so ideal location. Let me know.

Six and a half to 7 ft. How well it did depends on the size of the fingers and the number of hands. Was always one of my favorites.

That's what I wanted to know! I'll put a range of 7 to 9 feet. Considering this and growth of around 1 to 2ft/year I might get fruit next year. All other things being equal off course!

Mine is a monster, 13 feet when it fruited. My dwarf brazilians are around 13-14 feet. So most dwarves here are gigantic.

So they are just not dwarves then or how tall do the "Tall Namwah" actually get in Hawaii?

They are dwarves. Everything just gets really big here in the tropics. Plus my plants get a daily watering for 180 minutes. I'll see if I can get some pictures this weekend.

I think the watering really makes all the difference. My DBs closest to my regularly watered lawn are much bigger than any of my other DBs and just a few feet shorter than the Tall Brazilians my neighbor has. My biggest are still maybe 11 feet.

Watering makes a big difference, but I am not sure that it would be a near doubling in height. Dwarf Namwah is known to sport tall. I remember having a few of those sports and requiring the aide of a ladder on the back of a truck to bag those bunches.

Opps, the height is just under 6 foot/182 centimeter at the top of the bud.

We've had lively discussions on why it decided to flower. So far, the consensus is that it has a hot year in Northern California.

It is my experience with Namwah, that the skins split very easily. You need to watch it closely. At the first sign of yellowing or splitting I do cut the entire bunch and let it ripen in the garage.
But judging your photo and your growing zone, you are at least 6 month away from making that decision.
