Wanted: Musa Basjoo
Looking for the real deal M. basjoo, and I'd rather get some from fellow forum members here than risk buying from a nursery and ending up with a mystery plant, as I've heard several nurseries don't...

Re: So what banana's have you grown
If no one did, this forum wouldn't be here ;) I don't grow seeds but a lot of members here do. I'll just sorry to say, correct you though, in that Monkey Fingers is a cultivar not a seeded species.

Re: Papaya or a Weed?
Definitely not Papaya, as those look at first to me like an odd pepper then like some kind of ivy.

Re: Thai Giant Pics
Incredible! I've been wanting to grow these since I first saw photos of them. Really freak passer-by's with this and Gunnera manicata.

Re: New and panicking with a musa velutina
Welcome! From what I have seen, Velutina can take as short as 2 months from flower to ripe fruit. I'd bring yours in if I were you though. The season at least for me is closing in soon and too soon...

Re: Tomatoes
If you're asking everyone, then yes. Mine always grow nice and produced very heavily. I like them, but sometimes find them to be too sweet for a purple tomato and most of the time prefer others like...

Re: What kind of banana do I have
I'm no expert but the second image makes it look like an Orinoco. If this is what you're worried about they look normal to me. I've seen a lot of Orinoco with very few hands. There may be things you...

Re: New to Forum
All bananas bloom, drop flowers, and only produce a set amount of hands. Some very little, some moderate, some heavy production. All lose a lot of what looked to be young bananas but are just male...

Re: Library Kid's introduction
Welcome! I myself ironically don't have Mekong Giant or Basjoo though they should do excellent out here, but I do have a good sized collection of non-ornamentals :D

Re: Tomatoes
With there being so many different varieties, flavors, textures, - No such thing as the best. I myself agree with a lot of heirloom growers in saying "depends on my mood." I love sweet Pineapples and...

Re: banana plants all dying
Agreed with above. Way too hot, likely way too dry of air, and when it comes to that much heat bananas really do need a lot of water. Sounds like a lot of extremes and stress.

Congrats!! Sad for him indeed but great find! I only wish to meet another fellow tropical-in-a-nontropical grower. Good luck with those! The Carambola/Starfruit looks pretty well sized. Did he know...

Re: Guanabana/Soursop Seedling Tree For Sale.
If someone really wants to sample Annonas and not just Asimina genus (Pawpaws) the easier more hardy one to do is the Sugar Apple (Annona squamosa) Small size allows container growing and fitting in...

Been growing them for almost 3 years now, love them fresh, topped over pasta, in eggs, in salads, whatever. I love that they have a more traditional "tomato" flavor, the best and richest "tomato"...

Re: Tomatoes
Costoluto Genovese are a variety I love soo much! Nice fruits. Due to late planting mine are still in their flowering phase.
