I'm not sure if this question has been posed before.
What is the fasted growing Banana Variety from seedling to flowering and setting bananas? Living in a cool climate it would be nice to be able to see a plant flower in its first year. Thanks Phil

From a well established, good size sucker, about 17 months to flower.

There are no easily obtainable edible Musa that can flower in one season. There are a few out there but they are impossible to get in the US, except 'California Gold' which reportedly can flower in one season but that is also hard to come by. The only ones that will do it are the ornamental ones like Musa velutina and Musa ornata.
