This guy was very aggressive trying to chase me away from my plants. I haven't seen a wasp this color hanging around here before. His wings are iridescent purple.

First time I've seen this one here too. It is a tiny little wasp, not much bigger than a large ant. It was drinking water off the bougainvillea. There were three of them flying around these.

Anyone know if this is a moth or a wasp and the name of it. It looks like it only has one wing on each side. We just lost a very pretty Moon Flower vine and am having hard time determining what did it as there are no bugs or caterpillars around.

Nice picture. Noah! I haven't nailed it, but this is similar:

Orange Spotted Tiger Moth 1 - ? sp.

The last sentence says they look like wasps.

Can you see through the wings?

I believe what you have is the Texas wasp moth, or the Yellow-banded wasp moth.
