![]() Everybody has its own theory how to grow their plants. None is wrong. One way or another the plants will seek how she can live. It will try to survive all its own. I used to do cut the top off depending how much root damage I made. It all depends on the situation.
I am doing what I learned how to transplant my citrus and I applied the same to my bananas. It seemed to work well.

![]() James:
I used to think that I can't grow cherries in my yard because as I go around the city of Salinas, I did not see any single cherry tree. Or bananas. But look at my cherries. They were so full of sweet cherries that last year, one major branch broke because of heavy fruiting. So what can I say to you. Just try it. You'll be surprise. I used to look at the chill requirements and abide by those. Not any more. So I said to myself, what can I lose? If I lose, I charge it to Experience.

![]() Mike:
I am growing Prince Ranier, my favorite because of the taste and prolific fruiting and Stella. I don't have luck on Bing Cherry. I bought my Fuji apples at Home Depot but I believe any nursery carries them. You won't be disappointed as far as the taste and growing them is concerned. They are easy to grow. But whoever tasted them remember them for many years and reminded me their joyful experience. For people who wanted to see my trees, please goto http://community.webshots.com/user/bencelest

![]() Correction when I say I don't have luck on Bing Cherries.
What I meant was I was not successful grafting the Bing cherries in both my Stella and Prince Ranier. I tried many grafts on persimmons, citrus, apples, plums, you name it and I was above 90% successful.

He sells trees grafted on rootstocks that require less hours of chilling and are more desease resistant than the Fuji rootstock. I have 5 different apples, 2 different cherries, 5 different peaches, 5 different nectarines, 2 different apricots, 2 different pears, and an aprium. The cherries will need another cherry as a pollinater and some varieties won't pollinate well with others kinds. This site can help http://extension.missouri.edu/explor...ort/g06001.htm Good luck! |

![]() I "planted" in pots into my heated and lit shop 2 large Ae Ae (pseudostems of 4' and 5'), 1 San Jose, and 1 Psian Klotek. I just drove 1,346 miles over the past three days visiting friends and nurseries and am happy with the friends I visited, everything I saw and the things I brought home.
