solanum quitoense (naranjilla) seeds, (the kind with the BIG thorns), 100 sikkimensis daj giant seeds, 100 ensete glaucum seeds, 100 musa ornata seeds, 100 strelitizia reginae seeds, 15 big bertha pepper seeds.
From my past experience with banana seeds, that means I should get about 5 glaucum plants.....no, I'm trying harder this time with fluctuating temps. So make that three this time...LOL

Seven more Arugala, 2 heirloom peppers - which the resident rabbit cut down overnight. Next day both plants were gone. I'll get the furry little bugger one day. Remember Elmer Fudd singing "We're gonna have woast wabbit, we're gonna have woast wabbit..."
Also put in 2 different heirloom tomatoes as an experiment. Still looking for Hillbilly and Brandywine. Dan Last edited by bananimal : 01-30-2008 at 03:45 PM. Reason: Add pics of wesults of wabbits wunning amok! |

To answer Ms Kitty yes they are the ones. And to Bananimal, no they did not, I had to, but I took your advice, I sprayed them down really good, and then submerged them in lukewarmish water and from what I could tell... I drowned them all lol. They all look pretty good, although the Icecream is all brownish at the top though it doesn't look like a fungis or anything (at least I hope not), the others are putting up the little bit of growth in the middle already. >.<: It amazes me how quickly they get started. Other than all that, they were very nice corms, and they came with ALOT OF ROOTS. It was actually painstaking to take all the dirt off em.

there wont be too many critters to get into them...the outside cats kill everything that moves. no worries there. my concern is the neighbors kids. my yard is posted and ive asked him nicely( very nicely- to the point it almost made me sick...) 'to keep his sweet little adorable children on their side of the yard', ok no problem..not five minutes later they were back in my yard stomping on my daylilies that cost a small fortune, while he was walking around in his yard on the cell phone. so this year im not going to ask politely, im gonna be very nasty and hateful. i will tell him if he dosent keep his kids out of my yard he will be replacing everything that they damage. then i will call the law. |
