Oh I guess the best spot is the east side of my house, but that's also the side with the bamboo LOL. I have a more shadier location, I wonder if the beautyberry would still do well there?

My Beautyberry shrubs grow in an east site, if this is any indication. They will thrive in east light.
They might also do well in a shadier site too though, so I'd give it a try Cam. You can always move them if they look like they're not doing well. : ) |

Ok thats a good idea. I actually have a couple of ligher areas near my shade garden. I have a part of my flowerbed that I consider no mans land, well no plants land lol. Everything I have planted in that area dies. I cant find anything that will survive. The soil and light is the same as the rest of the flowerbed, and I actually added alot of amendments like compost to that area. I would like to try a beautyberry there

Maybe there are pests under the soil in that area.

I dont know. I've tilled that area and never noticed anything. I know one issue is when it rains alot, the water pounds that area, but further out thats not a problem. The only thing I can think of is nematodes because i havent seen anything else and there are plenty of earthworms in that area. I have a privet plant there and that's the only thing thats doing well

OK so far I've put two Vanilla Marigold seeds, one Oriental purple ball eggplant, and one MicroTom in the AG. Decisions, decisions!
This is so much fun! ~J

Mornin' Gang!
![]() So glad you sowed the "purple ball" Oriental eggplant, JaNan! That is a very unique variety with little bitesize fruits that are purple. You'll love it.You'll also fall in love with those Vanilla marigolds JaNan, like I did. They bloom like crazy until frost. The foliage is stunning and different from a lot of other marigolds. The blooms last forever and they make an excellent cutflower. ![]() Hoping your seeds arrive today, Cameron. ![]() Later I'm going to go so some laundry with my mom, at the laundromat. It's too stressful so we no longer do it here in the building. It's good though, because it's cheaper and faster. Hope you guys have a great Tuesday. I'll be around on and off. I got some seeds together for Tom and Dean last night but I'm not finished yet. Chat soon... : ) |

Looks like some of my peppers are starting to sprout. Looking forward to seeing what colors I get from them. Sometimes the variety packs can be loads of fun. Oh, and for some reason all my other plants that I started all up and died. The just wilted and fell down. Not sure what caused it.
Glad doing your laundary elsewhere isn't too bad. At least you will be out of there in a little while and can start enjoying a more stress free life. |

Doing good Cameron. I keep watching my blueberry bushes. I see leaves starting on some of them. I think they all survived my transplanting but I won't be happy until each and every one of them has nice leaves on them.
I'm still waiting on my fruit cocktail tree to arrive. This time of year is exciting for everyone I think. |

I have a grow tail on my French Vanilla! I'll post the picture in the AG thread.I also added the Winterberry and Little Blue Pot into the AG last night. ![]() Gosh Cameron, I can't believe you didn't even get your seeds today! This time of year is fun Tom! ~J

It's disappointing Cam, but they'll be there tomorrow or the next day, I'm sure. I mailed you and JaNan's envelopes at the exact same time and in the same mailbox too. It sounds like your post office is as slow as ours. Don't worry, fingers crossed for tomorrow...
I did laundry today and then came home and had a big chicken dinner with my mom. Now I'm relaxing and gonna post some shots. Tom, I will be mailing some seeds for you and Dean by the weekend, if not sooner. I only have five of your picks so far though so please choose some more. Glad your blueberry shrubs are putting on growth. That's great news.Hi JaNan! ![]() Yup, the Vanilla marigold seeds spout super fast. Last year mine came up in 24 hours on my heat mat. I hope the micro-tom comes up quickly for you too. : ) |

Also too Cam, just to let you know...I've been mailing seeds for years to tons of people and never once has someone not received my seeds, so please don't worry.
![]() I do think it's strange they're taking so long, but some places are slower than others. I really hope they arrive tomorrow so I can set my mind at ease. Funny because even though I've been mailing seeds for a long time, I still always panic until the person says they actually have them. Can you imagine if this was JaNan instead, still waiting?! She'd be filing a missing seeds report! ![]() So Tom, where did you transplant the blueberry shrubs to? Did you move them because you were worried they got over fertilized? : ) |

Oh, add merigold seeds to the package. I can't eat them but I hear they make good insect repellent. Feel free to surprise me with whatever. I generally only like things I can eat.
Well, by transplant I mean plant. I didn't move them. They look like they are pulling through. |

Too funny, JaNan! See I knew it.
![]() I hope you're not mad at me Cam. ![]() Remember everyone, when I mail seeds to you, I have no control over when you'll get them. That's up to your post office. ![]() Ok cool Tom. Glad you let me know what else you like and I'll be sure to send you some goodies. So I wish Dean read this thread. Guess I'll have to pm him... I'm loading shots for the aero-garden thread but some came out blurry so I have to re-do them. Things are thriving! : ) |

Too funny JaNan...I've been feeling the same way and not wanting to mention the seeds at all so Cam wouldn't feel left out.
You're really a good sport about it though Cam. If it was me, I'd be more like JaNan, and freaking out! I'd likely be on the phone to the post office, demanding to know where the hell my envelope was! I'd feel sorry for the poor bugger on the other end of the phone. ![]() I'm glad you're not mad at me Cam...I was worried. I know you're cool with it, but I'm a little ticked. My mom said she thinks they'll come tomorrow or Thursday and wasn't concerned at all. Let's just see what tomorrow brings then. I still haven't received Dean's seeds and thought I should have by now, and Olaf's too, but neither have arrived just yet. Snail-mail is so annoying. Good thing our mailboxes are locked here though. ![]() Hope you saw my post a few minutes ago in the aero-garden thread. It's a good one. Tom, don't be upset about the strawberry...it's my girlfriend's fault. Another will germinate soon. ![]() : ) |
