Likely not until the Fall, Zac.
![]() But regardless, I still live here right now and pay good rent, and we're entitled to notice. I shouldn't have had to deal with some strange man staring through my windows like that while I was standing there in my underwear! So yeah, the mail strike is still in effect. Gosh I hope it doesn't last the summer! That would be just awful. If it does work out that way, I'll just have to send things to some of you guys in the fall. It's out of our control so we'll see how it works out. Fingers crossed. : ) |

I've got a trade setup with Jordan from unusual plants to tide me over until your mail strike ends - we're going to exchange some succulents.

Oh I made his day all right...he got an eyeful, that's for sure!
I was totally shocked, to say the least. I missed your post earlier, JaNan. ![]() It's a lot to take care of all those aero-gardens, isn't it? All your stuff looks great and I loved seeing the 'purple ball' blossom today. YaY! ![]() Here are some beautiful lilies & daisies... ![]() ![]() ![]() Kind of a blurry shot but if you look closely you'll see little white buds all over my 'winterberry' shrublets! This means that berries will follow... ![]() Yippeeeeeeeeeee!!! ![]() : ) |

Yes, it is but I enjoy it. It just makes the rest of my day so upbeat.
![]() I took a few (not all) of the starfruit seedlings out of their seed starter dome. This is the point that my seedlings usually die - so keep your fingers crossed for me. They started wilting almost immediately. I got them transplanted just as fast as I could. I gave them a good drink, misted them all and covered them with individual soda bottle domes (except for one - I want to see if it can acclimate without a dome on it). I know you will ask, I used spagnum (my Canadian Miracle Grow spagnum ) and perlite for their "soil". They all perked back up except for the one I didn't cover - so I covered it too. The must need high humidity. I may try setting them outside a little bit each day. It's very humid out there, but so hot. What do you think I should do?

Keep them covered until they recover from transplant shock, but be sure to remove all the covers everyday for 10 minutes until they do...then you'll increase to 1/2 hour for a few days...and then an hour, etc., until they're eventually uncovered permanently.
It takes time, and nursing them like babies, but it'll be well worth your effort in the end. ![]() : ) |

Wow Sherry those are beautiful pictures! I love the lilies. I think I can still smell the fish emulsions from outside lol. My banana cannas are producing baby plants finally. I hope your star fruit seedlings survive Janan.

OK I will give that a shot.
Those Winterberry buds are so cute! Did I read that the little blossoms are white? Are the little striped Fish peppers big enough yet to photograph? I am anxious to see those little boogers! ![]() I have to rustle up something for lunch. My stomach is growling! ![]()

Don't laugh Cam...you could have flies everywhere, very soon!
If you do, get out the hose and rinse the area well. Next time, take my suggestion about making holes to water into and then cover back over, so you don't have to smell the foul stench of rotting fish! I can't imagine anything more putrid and I can't see your mother liking it one bit either! So Cam, I just did Sagittarius in the Zodiac thread, but will do Sheep & Rat next. My mom is a Sagittarius and she's so much like the description I posted, it isn't even funny. Yup, JaNan, I can get a shot of one of the small "Fish" peppers for you. They have white stripes on them! Yes, the little bell-like flowers on the winterberry shrublets will be white and they dangle downwards. They leave a white berry behind, which ripens red. This plant is actually wintergreen and the berries smell of and contain oil of wintergreen. A very pleasant odor indeed. The leaves can sometimes smell wintergreen-ish as well. ![]() : ) |

I will just water it into the soil next time. I just wanted to do a quick foliar feed for my plants. Surprisingly I haven't seen very many flies. The smell is practically gone now since its pretty windy here. My mom said that it smelt like a lake outside after I sprayed. I've also heard that fish emulsion gets rid of pests such as mosquitoes.

Things are going good here. Sorry to hear about your peeper Sherry.
I transplanted a few peppers. I can't wait to see some flowers and taste some of the peppers. |
