I forget the germination rate that I had but it was at least 50% and they're growing well - although it's me who weakens during these long dark winter nights!

Thank you for the information. I don't know if it was tissue culture or not, I'm afraid. Is there any chance that pups will grow stronger as the plant ages or am I to expect this every time they grow?

Hi guys,

One of my bananas has a long, thin strand growing out of the base of the PS. Is this a pup? It's about ten inches long and not very thick at all.

Well, I got the seeds here in the UK and they had salt petre to soak them over night in. First I had all of my banana, and other seeds, in the fridge overnight, then into the kitchen (around 80F)...

Two of my sikkimensis have sprouted and are growing very well indeed. :) The plant on the bottom right is a bird of paradise.
