I forget the germination rate that I had but it was at least 50% and they're growing well - although it's me who weakens during these long dark winter nights!

Thank you for the information. I don't know if it was tissue culture or not, I'm afraid. Is there any chance that pups will grow stronger as the plant ages or am I to expect this every time they grow?

Hi guys,
One of my bananas has a long, thin strand growing out of the base of the PS. Is this a pup? It's about ten inches long and not very thick at all.

Thank you! That's a gunnera. It grows massive, like to be wet, is from the Amazon yet it's survived down to -15C - uncovered! lol The leaves can grow to between 5 - 8 feet accross. I love it. If you...

Well, I got the seeds here in the UK and they had salt petre to soak them over night in. First I had all of my banana, and other seeds, in the fridge overnight, then into the kitchen (around 80F)...

Sikkimensis sprouted
Two of my sikkimensis have sprouted and are growing very well indeed. :) The plant on the bottom right is a bird of paradise.
