Banana Seed Germination Forum As one of the toughest seeds in the plant kingdom to figure out the keys to germination success with, this is a forum with banana seed germination tips. Please entitle posts like "Musa balbisiana," or "Musa cheesmani," etc. People would then post a reply under that heading, sharing their germination successes (and failures), what materials and methods they used, germination percentage, etc. |

![]() Well, I got the seeds here in the UK and they had salt petre to soak them over night in. First I had all of my banana, and other seeds, in the fridge overnight, then into the kitchen (around 80F) with my orchids for twelve hours and repeated this for two weeks before planting. I think it's about three weeks since the first one popped up but the others are still underground. I'm not expecting them to sprout within the next four weeks or so.
I have two UFO LED lights for my orchids that I put my bananas under too. I also have grapefruit seeds. orange and lime seeds under there with them. I planted them in ordinary compost like I did with my chillies and so far it's worked out well. All my seeds are in my parrot brooder at 37C. Generally all my seeds sprout within a month but usually around two weeks. we'll see what the next few weeks hold in store for the other seeds that have yet to show themselves.
