Pinwheel Musa sikkimensis growth in 8 hours...

This is a Musa sikkimensis manipur I have cut leaves off (except one for a friend to see) so that I can mail it out after work. The two black lines indicate the amount of growth in the last 8 hours...

I believe this is a kalanchoe and this one with the very large leaves is commonly called "flapjack" around here. The more sun they get the more red will be in leaves. Here is a google search...

I learned something everyday. I may have seen them both in the market and I always thought that they were saba. I don't recall seeing any praying hands in my lifetime. But what do I know?

'Praying Hands' is basically just a fused-finger variety of 'Saba', every once in a while a normal 'Saba'-looking bunch is produced, but that does not mean it is not true to type. Perhaps next time...

I would measure it from the bottom of the plant to ground level, so just dig a hole that deep and toss it in.
