I have begun updating the website, changing the format some, adding pix in a gallery format. Have about 6 years worth of pix to format and upload, Uploaded a couple hundred pix today.

The whole point of propping to to support the weight of the bananas, not to stiffen the pseudostem. Almost as if the bananas would stay where they are on the prop even if you cut down the pseudostem....

It's 'Dwarf Cavendish'. There are lots of variants which are slightly different from one another, so you may notice some inconsistencies between sources of plants, but they are all pretty similar.

My first Balonkawe, an ABBB type from the Philippines. 8 months from flower to harvest! Haven't cooked with it yet, but like a much worse Ice Cream banana when ripe. 2nd pic with some ripe FHIA-17s....
