I don't usually kill bugs but I'm afraid I would have to let a dog or cat eat that thing.. if it didn't eat them first!
Not looking forward to moving back where there are huge spiders. I can deal with snakes..

Not a lot of bugs here other than mosquitoes but we have moose, grizzly bears, wolves, caribou, foxes, coyotes that come visit us!

Trina, these are some shots for you! I like spiders too, no really, they eat bugs that I don't like. My hate and fear is snakes (I've had my share of those in my house too!)

If I can keep the grasshoppers off my cannas, I MIGHT have some blooms soon!

Yesterday in the garden as I was watering the 'nanners' I happened to notice all the honey bees flying around my basil plants, and among them was the largest bee I've ever seen. It was as fat as the black Hawaiian bumble bees I've seen, but it was longer. It was easily 3 to 3 1/2 times the size of the honey bees, and had similar markings, but were a little lighter colored.
Today, I took my camera hoping that one would show up again. I was not disappointed. In one photo, there are two ordinary honey bees together. I wanted to get a shot next to a monster bee for a size comparison, but they didn't get too close to the monster bees. Maybe next time.
I watched for a while to see if it was one of those insects that looks like a bee, but preys on them. These were going for pollen just like the normal size bees. They weren't aggressive toward me as far as I noticed, since I was able to get pretty close to take the pictures. Normally I have bees flying all around me when I trim the Basil, and they never sting, but I didn't want to push these big fellows too much until they get used to my presence.

Here is one flying around the Basil blossoms.

Here she is from the back

Beautiful shots everyone!

I really don't know what this bee looking thing is, but he is cutting circles in my rose bush leaves and was not even caring that I had the camera that close to him (that is not a zoom shot)!
