thanks so much Sherry and Janan. it doesn't take much to make me happy. i told my sister if she couldd make me a chocolate chip cake. i also wish i had some BBQ for my birthday dinner

Sorry about that...I had some computer problems. Think I fixed it now.


So yeah, a bar-b-que would be cool, even if it was just hamburgers and hotdogs...although a thick juicy steak would be cool...or even some meaty ribs!

Birthdays are always full of surprises and wonderful things...I've always loved them, even if they're not my own.


I especially love to surprise friends with gifts they don't expect...like the time I had two concert tickets for a friend who thought she couldn't get them. Boy was she happily shocked. Just seeing how excited she was and how happy I'd made her, was like a gift right back to me!


Mmmmmm...a chocolate chip cake sounds yummy. Do you think she'll make it for ya?


JaNan, did you see the shot of the little variegated "fish" pepper I showed in the hot pepper thread for you? It's so cute.

I've got one in my a-g and one in a pot. They're just too cute and the tomatoes are surprisingly tasty. Keep the plant going and it will get a bit bigger with more tomatoes.

Hi Sherry. I got the pepper plant today. The more I look at it, the more I think it is mislabeled. It looks more like a Black Pearl Pepper, if it is, then its still aright. I repotted all of my other plants and I took pictures of another sunflower bloom. I don't know which one this is.

Yup, that's a 'black pearl' alright. A gorgeous one that will get more black in the sun. Congrats on getting it! YAY!


That sunflower is so beautiful! I'll let you know what it might be. Could it be from the fashion mix?

I really like it alot. I have it inside by a sunny window, along with my other pepper plants. I was really hoping it was Purple Flash but I should have known better. Lowe's usually mislabels its plants. I think there are a couple of small peppers on it already. I think you are right about it being the color fashion mix sunflower. I really love the look of it

You have really outdone yourself with sunflowers this year, Cameron! I couldn't have shared my seeds with anyone better! I love all of them.


Your 'black pearl' is a beauty. Not to worry...I can easily get 'purple flash' seeds for us later. Just enjoy your beautiful new plant. It's your birthday in a couple days!!!

Thanks so much Sherry. Next year I'm going to have to expand my front flowerbed because the sunflowers are competing with each other and Russian Mammoth is shading all of the others. Its nearly 6 feet tall now. I'm so glad you gave me the seeds, I really like sunflowers alot now. I really do like the Black Pearl and hopefully I will have seeds to share with friends. So far I don't think I have any plans for my birthday which is still alright lol

Some years I just like to stay home and hang out with friends...low-key. Not every birthday has to be crammed with plans. Sometimes it's just nice to stay home and enjoy other things.


I think your sunflowers are the best and you really keep surprising me every time you show a new one bloomed. There's something so downright cheerful about sunflowers, eh?


Well, today is a holiday so the girls and I are going out for Chinese food. I'm really gonna chow down, and we were joking about wearing elastic waistbands!!!

Congratulations Greg. I have a feeling every store will be crowded anyways on Sunday. I like to stay home though last year I did enjoy going to a restaurant for my birthday. I'm really impressed with sunflowers, I never would have thought I would grow them. I know a man several years ago had acres of sunflowers and the city made him cut all of them down because they considered them weeds.

I tell you what!!!! That irritates me to no end, telling someone what to do on their own property. I flat out couldn't live with those HoA's that people have to put up with.

I hate HOA's too. Luckily I don't live in one lol. A friend of my mom's does and they even told her what color crepe myrtle she could plant because any other color wouldn't look right with the color of her house lol
