![]() I wouldn't buy it Cam...I'd just find an area where you can dig some clean dirt that's free of amendments and bring it home. You won't need a lot anyway.

![]() Ok Sherry. The soil around here is mostly clay, though there is a good area of my yard that is sandy loam. I guess I could use that.

![]() Something very scary happened last night here and I found out about it this morning when I woke up to see a forensic's police vehicle in our parking lot...
Apparently last night, sometime between 7 and 10, my new neighbors directly beside me, were robbed! ![]() I guess their deadbold was sticking and they didn't have it locked...only the handle was locked so the thief apparently shimmied their way in. Who would know their deadbolt wasn't working properly? Someone in the building, that's who...and as if we need to wonder who! I just can't believe this was done while my mom and I were both home! The unit is directly across from my mom's place and if she'd looked through her peek hole she would have seen the robbery in progress! She didn't hear a sound and neither did I. The person was obviously in socks with no shoes because there's no way you can be on our stairs with shoes and not be heard. The whole thing is highly suspicious to me, and in 11 years I've been here, no one's apartment has ever been broken into. I am more than freaked out by it and tonight when I went out earlier I had my mom watch and listen for things. I have apartment insurance but even still. I would just die if someone broke in here...and took my little Henry! ![]() Ayway, I'm just devastated for my neighbor's and I felt horrible to have to tell them I didn't see or hear a thing. They said their children's wallets were stolen and a whole bunch of electronic and computer equipment! I'm just stunned that someone could do this while we were home! I know this though...only someone who lives here would know how to be quiet enough to do something like this and get away with it. Gosh, I can't wait to get out of here. Hope everyone has a good night. ![]() : ) |

![]() Very Creepy! I'll be glad when you get out of there too! They would take Henry just to get at you, if it is that hateful thief neighbor you have. And take Buttons too just to get at your Mom. You guys need to be VERY careful. If they are that bold to do that when everyone is home and right there. SHUDDER!!!! I'm sorry I'm not trying to scare you any further, but that is so worrisome. Maybe the cops will be more diligent now, that would be a good thing.
There are some little alarms they sell here that you can put on windows and doors that emit a shrill sound if you have them set and they are opened. They don't call the cops or anything but the sound usually will make an intruder run off. Maybe you could get a set of those. I think you can get them at WalMart or maybe your Canadian Tire would have them. Just a thought. ~JaNan

![]() As you all probably know; clay soil if ammended, is the best soil to grow things! So many nutrients packed so tightly together.

![]() Happy Friday, Gang!
![]() Hope you guys are having a good evening. ![]() Yes JaNan, frankly I'm terrified of what is going on here and am working on getting out quickly. There is something going on around here that isn't good and I have very bad suspicions. My mom and I have worked it out that when either one of us goes out, the other person watches and listens to make sure things are ok. I will not have my home robbed and invaded like that. How awful though for my neighbors. I feel horrible for them. ![]() Not too much planned for tonight. It's a total winter wonderland here in London again...we just got hit with over 10 inches of snow!!! ![]() I am staying in where it's warm and safe. Besides that, I'm terrified to go anywhere for too long at night because I could meet the same fate as my neighbors did! I even bring Henry to my mom's place when I go out...just in case. All the stuff can be replaced, but he can't be. No one will ever steal him from me, but I know they'd like to. I really do know that someone that lives here, did this. It's too unbelievable and impossible any other way. There is a criminal ring here that involves at least 3 units, but I suspect 4. The owner is also friends that went to school with the one that assaulted my mom and I!!! Things are corrupt here now and the sooner I leave, the better. I admit I'm afraid. So what are your plans this weekend, gang? I'm in the process of taking some aero-garden shots... : ) |

![]() Beth (lorax) and another gardener on plantswap just told me my mystery sprout is a Jack-in-the-Pulpit seedling! I did sow some seeds for it awhile back!
![]() This is way too amazing. Do you know how cool this plant is?! Now I get to grow it! ![]() : ) |

![]() I had to look it up, I didn't know what it was. Looks really cool. I love the flower on it! How long did it take for it to sprout? It sure is a perfect looking sprout.
Yeah, that Beth really knows her plants! I always liked to pick her brain. ![]() Have to go rustle up Greg something for supper. He will be home in a few minutes. ~J

![]() It took a year for the arum to sprout and I think they enjoy cooler temps so this is why it loved my cool bathroom window sill. I did sow some seeds awhile back and had some sprouts but I couldn't remember which pot I had them in. I guess this one waited longer than the others to come up, so this makes it extra special. The berries are very ornamental on jack-in-the-pulpit and they emerge on stalks from the center of the plant.

![]() There are many different types of Arum and here's one that produces gorgeous flowers. Can you imagine having this in your yard?!

![]() Oh that is the "corpse" plant isn't it? It smells like rotten meat to attract things it can eat? I think it is beautiful but I don't think I could deal with the smell. I have a weak stomach and gag over stinky things.

![]() I've never heard of Arum plants 'stinking' and would hate that too. I think that's a different plant altogether JaNan, and I saw pictures of it once. A good plant to give to someone you don't like.
