I haven't been plant shopping since before Thanksgiving. I was too busy getting ready for that.

I have some tiny trees that I put up all over the house. I love decorating for Christmas. I love the lights. I try to find decorations for all the holidays with lights. It just makes everything so cheerful. Here's a tiny tree that I have on one of my plant tables that has the little mini white lights and of all things Hollyberries!!!

The other thing with lights is a large Mason jar with potpourri in it. The lights heat up the potpourri and makes everything smell nicely. I will get a close up of it tomorrow and put it into the gift ideas thread. They are pretty easy to make. ~J

Such a pretty shot, Janan!

I enjoy lights just like you as well, and love white ones in the garden even. That's why I like my trellis because I can keep it lit all year. I agree about them being cheerful...eye candy.

I'll show you my beautiful LED snowflake lights when I get them hung. They're truly beautiful. My mom has the LED stars.

I'm looking forward to reviving my Christmas thread soon...

Not sure what's going on tomorrow since I can tell I'll be up half the night. I'm just sad that my biking days are coming to an end. It's just getting too bloodey cold out now.

I love the hollyberries Janan...needless to say. I saw at Home Depot recently, that they had little holly trees with berries on them. They were only small trees and they only had a few berries but they were cute and ornamental in decorative pots. Knowing me, I'll have one before long.

I'm wondering if tomorrow will be the day we wake up to snow coverage. My beautyberry and hollyberry shrubs will be beautiful with a snowy background. An excuse to take more pics,
of course!

All my little trees are fake ones but they are cute. I have bought the small real ones though I haven't bought any this year yet. I have a rosemary in a side garden that is a monster. They always have those trimmed and decorated as little Christmas trees here. I don't know if I have seen any little holly trees. Those sound really cute!. Oh, I meant to mention to you, I did see a wreath made of nothing but different succulents. I examined it closely and they just stuck the stems down into florist moss that was wired into a wreath shape. Very cute but very expensive! I don't know if they would root and look nice for a long time or shrivel up and die. But that could be something that could be done in all sorts of shapes and things.

I love your trellis too. Is it an inside or outside decoration, or both? ~J

At one time Janan, that trellis stood against a wall in my garden and grew cantaloupe melons on it!!!

In the pic in this thread though, it is indoors, and it stands tall, directly behind my couch, to add to the sort of garden theme of my living room...

My tree is fake too Janan, so don't worry. I just love it when I see real ones though and I always want one. I can imagine those little ones I saw, plastered with white lights everywhere. Gorgeous!

Tomorrow night I'll get a shot of this gorgeous tree in someone's living room!

I'm not being a voyeur because they have it in the window for all to see with the drapes drawn wide open. It's simply gorgeous!

Plus too, I'll take some pics of these three houses near me that pollute their homes with Christmas lights...to the degree that would put Chevy Chase's place in 'Christmas Vacation' to shame!!!

I'll get some live footage so you can hear the music they play too. It's pretty wild.

Gonna revive my Christmas thread...

I have a room that I call my fantasy room. It has all sorts of fairies, dragons, wizards, and my Harry Potter collection in it. It has my little white lights in it too. If I could use them as regular lights in the house I would! HA! HA! Is that a stained glass fountain on the coffee table? I really like the curly variegated plant in the bird bath! Looks like you love butterflies like I love fairies.

I guess I'd better shut this off. It will take me another hour to wind down enough to sleep. but I'd better get started or I never will. ~J

Sorry Janan, I was posting in my Christmas thread from last year...

Nope, it's not a fountain, it's a mosaic glass pillar candle holder...but I do have a three level fountain too that looks like plant pots pouring into each other. Henry tries to take a bath in it though so I've turned it off for now.

I'm so glad you like the curly variegated dwarf spider plant in the bird bath. It was sent to me from someone in the US and it just so happens I have a few babies growing off of it right now...that can be shared! It is truly unique and special and it stays fairly small. It's very curly and reminds me of a wig once it gets going.

G'night, Janan! Hope you sleep well. Chat tomorrow. I might be up awhile yet...

Good afternoon, Members!

I was goofing around with the camera again and just look at how shimmery & shiny the blooms are on this crappy overcast day...

Maybe you'll like this succulent, Janan and Cam? It turns bright fluorescent pink in spring & summer with a tinge of grey on the leaves as well. It's a real beauty, but it's not so vibrantly colored this time of year...

Here's the top...

Here too, is another beautiful succulent that you guys may be interested in. I just love it...

Here's the curly dwarf baby spider plant I can share with you, Janan...

Hope you guys have are having a great Sunday, so far.

No snow, so it's a good one here.

Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

Lol Jack!

So how are you today? Any snow yet?

I am dreading the day!

Not sure what the temp is here this afternoon, but I might try to sneak in a bikeride if I can, later.

Gonna take some more shots to post soon...

What are you up to today, Jack? No salsa dancing? Guess Sally-anne is busy?

I was thinking about what to make for lunch today and might just see what my mom's having and try to mooch some.

So Jack, do you think my new camera takes a pretty good shot? I might get a real nice camera like Mitchel's, for Christmas!

Hiya Re: Insomnia Thread...

Sounds like the story of many people Jack, but sorry to hear you're having a tough time right now...I am too.

So, are you at least recovered from being sick? Sure hope so. I hate being sick, and haven't been really ill for a number of years now, thankfully.

I have so many things to do also to get ready for Christmas, because my mom says that family might be coming down for the holidays. Oh joy, Oh bliss! (sarcasm)

Hoping it might just end up my mom and I...with no visitors. Sounds like a grinch, I know, but my aunt is married to a mean old grump who will spoil the whole season for everyone! Maybe they'll only come for a short time...let's hope.

Well Jack, you once offered your services to listen to my troubles & woes, so you can feel free to cry on my shoulder as well. Life isn't always a bowl of cherries, but the bad times do eventually pass.

Took a shot just now, of the awesome Orinoco banana plant that Zac sent me last year. Gonna post it in the 'what is this' thread, but I'll show it here when I get it loaded...

Hope things improve for ya, Jack. Don't worry, they will.

Nah, it's not that I would have any problems per say, it's just an absolute lack of time to sort some issues in my head that makes them seem like a problem.
I'm well now, no illnesses, no flus, not a single cough these days.

Although there's lots of snow outside, so I guess my mind will be really worried these next few months.

Wink Re: Insomnia Thread...

I wish I could stop thinking, busy or not! My mind is always active and part of the reason why I find it difficult to settle down at night to rest. Can never seem to shut down completely.

Are you sure you're not just lonely for Sally-anne, Jack? Woops, I mean Sherry?

Good to hear you're all better. This makes things more pleasant, undoubtedly.

Here's a shot of Zac's Orinoco banana plant as of five minutes ago...

That's Bob's Viente Cohol banana plant in behind it. Zac's plant has a 3' tall p-stem and 2 pups at it's base. Here they are...

I'm hoping it might flower for me next year!

I don't really know, but I doubt it will set seed or anything like that. So it's the only alternative. Leaf propagation is one of the most difficult ones. It is slow and painstaking, but in the case of this plant well worth the time.
