Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
PLanted the first Orange Jasmine seed. It is so hard to get seeds since it rarely fruits. Never attempted to grow its seeds, but after I had the surprise pumkin grow out of the mint, stranger things have been known to happen!

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
Great choice, I've grown that even up here successfully with only minor protection as season extension. (cold frame).

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
Tom , I don't know about growing in your zone but one thing about sweet potatoes is that they're prone to cracking due to water stresses. Keep them evenly moist throughout the season. Wet to dry and visa versa will split them. Good luck. Beauregard makes great mashed and fries too.

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
I just planted a kiefer pear tree.
Any one know how much truth their is that an orient pear needs to have another orient peart tree or kiefer tree in order to fruit. |

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
My father has only one pear tree of any sort, an Asian Shensiki (sp?) pear, and it bears fruit on its own just fine. I don't know about a Keifer pear tree.

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
A couple days ago, I transplanted seven bell pepper plants (5 California Wonder, 2 Big Dipper) from the Aerogarden starter-kit to peat pots with soil - they're destined for my mother-in-law's garden, and they're already over 6" with many adult leaves.
This makes the total of plants in my living room: 6 Pattypan squash 6" 6 Hubbard squash 8" 4 pumpkin "Big Max" 12" 7 bell pepper 6" 6 cucumber ? green onions ? marigolds Edit: these were transplanted over the past three weeks. ... plus one pumpkin, three bell peppers, a pattypan, and a cuke that were slow to start, still in the Aerogarden. Those Garden Starter trays WORK. Next adventure: trying Miracle Fruit from seed the same way! |

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
I planted some regia sundew cuttings today.
I am so incredibly paranoid about these. I have read everything I can find about them, and I got some great advice from the person who gave them to me, but I'm still worried that they're going to die on me. Regias are notoriously difficult, and I'm still a little bit a newbie. But I've followed all the advice I could, so I have high hopes. Wish me luck! |

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
Today I trimmed roots off 2 cherimoyas & potted back into 8 gal tall tree pot. It lost a lot of soil mix in last 3 years!
Hoping it will fruit this year. (I'll show you Harvey!)

Re: What did you plant today (other plants)?
Well, I finally was able to get a break in the rain and work to get some new plants in the ground the past two days. Got in right at 60 plants in that ranged in size from small 6 pack size plants to 7 gallon plants. Mulch added and ferts added. Now Mother Nature is doing her thing!!! Also repotted quite a few plants and even planted a newly acquired bismarkia palm into a 60 gallon pot....
