Hey All,

I was checking with some favorite sellers on e-bay and was told the H.Fasciata "Big Band" was a succulent, but not an Aloe. Whatever that's worth!

FYI

Those Sticks on Fire look so delicate!

Here are some new pictures of the Mother of Thousands:

Sherry, this is Leopard Spots that has turned a deep purple because of the cold. You may want to experiment with a couple of yours to see if you can change the color with your temperature outside for a few minutes a day or something.

Wow, that's amazing JaNan, that the cold influences the color. I might experiment but would hate to kill it!

The 'sticks on fire' looks flimsy & delicate while putting on new growth but it hardens later and turns more pink and red. I can't wait to see them change.

Thanks for the lovely shots, JaNan!

You'll have plenty to share and experiment soon enough Sherry. Especially if the new little leaf babies are already rooting for you!

Drew I just noticed your problem when re-reading - here is a link with my Google search for Haworthia pumila - it does exist:

You know I've never seen anything like that before...the way the little babies grow off of the leaves like that and when you pull them off they already have roots on them! Totally cool.

They start growing quickly too. I'll show you my new plants soon, but thanks so much for sharing that succulent with me, JaNan! I just love it!

I can't wait until mine flowers like your gorgeous beauty has! WoW!

I never really realized that cold affected the color until this morning Sherry. I know I have many succulents and they do change color depending on how much sun they have everyday.

I know they are so cute. You are so welcome!

Here is a young Mother of Thousands (Kalanchoe daigremontiana) with sleet and snow. I will find out how this affects them very soon. Today will be the first day that we get above freezing in about 5 days. That is just unheard of in Central Texas. I will take pictures of my succulents and cacti and other plants as well to see how they fare.

JaNan,

It looks like the pumilas leaves are kinda dotted with the white going horizontally, whereas the big band is more of a continuous white "band".

Both aloes are beauties and I am going to get some via Cactusman on e-bay!

Have a great weekend,

Drew

Here is a picture of my harrissa jusbertti in full bloom. It is a night bloomer but it was cloudy that morning. It has a very nice fragrance. This is an older picture of it. My mom has always had a huge one (about 8ft tall and sprawling) at the end of our driveway when I was growing up in Calif. and later on Phx. I of course took a piece when I moved away and have kept it growing.
