I would love to have some if you don't eat the all; they've better than the fruit IMO.

Note to self: abusing fruits is not a good thing. And, in the spirit of the season, neither is fruitcake.

seeds taste very good, like capers. Am going to dry a batch for storage. Nice crop, there is only one on our plant and the leaves got burnt bad a few weeks back. Hope it and our Manzanos do also. Good growing. Merry Christmas and happy holidays from central Florida.

Yes --- I was amazed at the great prices. Can't wait for my yellow fleshed paps to produce next year. Got Gold Maradol and Solo Waimanalo low-bearing seeds in the ground.

For those that don't know be sure to plant at least 4 seeds per location to guarantee at least one plant is female or hermie. Yank out the others and leave just one fruiter. Otherwise you will enjoy clusters of male flowers and no fruit. It's a good idea to leave one male equidistant from the others for plantings of 20 or less.

One season more or less. This is my first time growing these things. This years 2 tries turned out to be male plants even after the guy I got it from swore one was female. Wasted 7 months.

I had the fruit at the club tasting table in the spring and it tasted great - yellow flesh. Most paps taste like vom to me except Red Lady. The supermarket ones are so bad I wouldn't insult the critters by using them for bait in the live trap.

BTW --- the low this AM was 55F. Where's my hat and gloves and parka!

ETA: I've read about changing the sex of a papaya. Anyone ever try that?
