Which of the 2 fruiting sexes that one be? I got all excited this year when I won some seedlings in a raffle. Planted the first one at 2 ft high and all it had was male flowers. The guy they came from said he cut the top one of his male paps and it sprouted and changed sex to female. What a weird plant.

I did the same and am waiting for flowers to show. Either female or bisex. It's a yellow fleshed pap and it's the only one I can eat besides red lady. Others I tried tasted like vomit!

Is it because of the pot?

If it is why don't you bury the pot flush with the ground?

Its in full sun the upper leaves make the picture look like its in the shade and the fruit is heavily shaded from the upper leaves. They suck to much water to bury the pot.. I like keeping the pan full.. :^)
