But you don't understand. All of my plants are in pots tucked away in a small area out of the way. This self professed recovering (not by choice) plantaholic pledged that she would not add to her collection but will confess to sinning a few times in a moment of weakness. Waiting to hear if my offer on a fixer with a decent yard has been accepted--I suspect I underbid though I was $4,750 over list. We'll see...

Not sure. Maybe I just "backslid"? But who can resist a dying plant on the clearance rack? Who?

6 months?!?!?! Sign me up!!

I'm very glad to hear that, as I was just given a small papaya plant from a friend of my mother on the way home last night (she has a blue-but-ripens-yellow banana that she does nothing to and it grows and pups like no tomorrow, has a nice bunch on it now; I'm so jealous lol)

It's already about a foot high so I'm hoping I get get it kickstarted into vigorous growth with some good feeding and watering

Sounds like a banana plant; which is right up my alley. You'd think by now I'd stop being surprised at how fast they can grow but no sir:

Last night I was digging around out there and decided to fill a five gallon that had some leftover seaweed in it and threw the whole thing outside with some wood ash and buried scraps. It was pushing a leaf last night and by this morning it was already out LOL

Agreed! I know the old veggies and stuff wouldn't break down immediately but I but them in to motivate the worms and critters to start moving around in that area and aerate the soil a bit for my naners, of course the eventually broken down vegetation will help too. And I've heard incredibly amazing things about seaweed; really excited to see how my garden does with it. I've started mulching some of my container plants with it ;D
