Here's pictures of my first vegetable garden! WOW has it grown in the few week since I planted my seedlings! So has a lot of other JUNK! I wish I had tilled the soil a second time after having removed all of the grass. Hopefully next year I wont get this many weeks. I have my work cut out for me!!! The yellow flowers already blooming are male yellow straight neck squash. One already has a female flower about to come out!!!! I did the sprinkler system in that manner for two reasons, one it's running off of my neighbores system (with his permission). Whoever installed it 20+ years ago kinda went to far over his property line! But also so that I can easily take it apart to till the soil again!

4 years ago we had a large vegetable garden, we did grow spinach, beans, carrots, pumpkins, courgettes and lots of other stuff
Unfortunately I was at that time not addicted with the banana virus

Nice looking garden!
We got ours tilled two days ago but all we have out is some early radishes, lettuce, onions, garlic, peas, etc.
We usually don't get time to put out our tomatoes until kind of late, we get too busy selling plants, and then we put out the ones that are left. Every once in a while, I sort some out for me, but usally I end up selling them when I'm at farmers market and hubby doesn't know that they're for us! My dad used to paint cars and our car was always rusty or dented, so I guess that's just the way it goes!
I got carried away and we have like 100 varieties of tomatoes this year, so I expect it to be hectic here trying to find them all!

Oh Man Sandy, You must have a lot of land. Thanks for the comments! Unfortunately down here in FL if you want to live anywhere near a city, land is a high price comodety and hard to find (and I mean within an hour or two drive of a major city). Here where I am there is still some land available for like $5-10K for 2-5 acres (out in the sticks of course LOL). I'm thinking about buying some land myself.

Let me ask you this if you don't mind, do you do your own seed collecting from like your tomatoes and some other plants that can cross pollinate (like squashes and sunflowers, etc...)? If so what method do you use to prevent cross pollination?

yall are very lucky to have a garden growing. i cant even figure out where i want to put mine. hopefully by this fall ill have it marked out and be able to keep the boys out of it. thats a laugh. lol. with the prices of everything going up, one needs a garden just to get decent veggies at a decent price. here in sparta, tomatoes are 3.99 a lb ( for the good ones) and the 3-1 pack, are maybe 3 inches around for 2.49. and our farmers market is a joke. the one in cookvegas is a lot bigger and the prices are a little better.

Josh land sounds cheap down there, its $5-10K an acre for tillable land and 10+ to build on.
