So i decided to grab a Florida variegated off of Etsy. Its a pup cut from the mom had decent roots and good chunk of corm. I potted it with kellog palm citrus and catus mix, which i use to amend my soil for my other bananas i plant in the ground. Put it in a spot where it will get mostly shade for now. Haven’t decided if I’m planting in ground come sept or waiting till spring.

Next time you want a banana plant you should consider getting it from a local member. Indonesia, Hawaii and other area outside the western hemisphere have nasty banana viruses. Plus local shipping is much cheaper. I don't know what members current prices are but the variegated florida and a'ea'e were recently $5 each.

When I was selling the variegated florida and a'ea'e here I was charging $15 each but when the prices dropped to $5 I had to switched from retail to wholesale. My farm is too far from a post office to be able to make a profit doing small orders. I always thought members deserved lower prices so I was very happy when the prices dropped. This was the first year I saw TC cultivars for sale at the american box stores for $9.99. I doubt they'll ever try doing that again lmao. The sales tax alone would be $1.15 on each plant. People could just stop at a local farm and get pups for $0.25 tax free. From my driveway to the end of the street I pass by more than 50 different cultivars just growing wild by the side of the road.

Do you really think the US inspection officer would know the difference between those two plants.
