Vigor of Goldfinger banana
Of the 15 varieties I have planted in the San Diego area Goldfinger has been the least vigorous. It went in ground a little over 2 years ago. The main psuedostem failed last winter at about 5’. Now 2 pups from that original are again about 5’ but have nearly stopped growing. All my other varieties are going gangbusters in similar conditions. Varieties like Namwa, Sweetheart and Brazilian have set multiple bunches. Even Saba is about to bloom. Have others found Goldfinger to be difficult to grow?
