![]() Hey all!
Looking for a Variegated Florida and a Variegated Monstera. I have been looking for these for a while and new to this board. I’m located in Central FL. I have many plants we could trade to enhance your collection. Anything out there? |

![]() They pop up from time to time on E-bay, but I can attest personally that for the Florida the bidding wars get rather vicious in the final minutes--especially if the ending time falls on a Friday or Saturday.
I once put a *ridiculously* high bid on a Florida to act as protection against the usual ending time snipers, then watched in the last minute the previously untouched bid suddenly kept climbing. In those 60 seconds the price skyrocketed from the current 100+something bid to well over my 200+ "protection" bid..... "Sorry you didn't win this item." Really, I'd recommend Thailand shops. There are at least a couple with great prices and good reputations. Even if you pay EMS+phytosanitary certificate (which I also recommend) you are STILL paying way less than what you're likely to encounter on e-bay+no bidding wars to deal with. Probably for the variegated Monstera too. Good luck ![]() Last edited by Sundra : 06-03-2020 at 03:13 AM. |

![]() I can attest to what Sundra said.
I really wanted a Variegated Florida myself and kept looking at Ebay when they came up, they almost always come up as bid only auctions. I got into several bidding wars until I finally won one for a very good price! w00t! I got lucky at the end of the auction only one other person was bidding against me. However, the craziest bid war I saw went all the way up to $400 and it was a Variegated Florida, not even an Ae'Ae'! IMO it's definitely worth it, just keep a lookout for them.

Another that I heard are good is New Life Tropicals. There's probably you tube videos of these guys too. Of course as Valor X says, you can always be patient and try to snag one on e-bay. There's some sellers on there with great plants. It's just a matter of timing and luck ![]() ![]() Quote:
