Party Florida Variegated and it’s first pup!

Hey! I was so super excited to see that my Florida Variegated has got it’s first pup! However, is it possible that it’s got a pup b/c the Mother pseudo stem has stopped growing? I have noticed that there hasn’t been one new leaf since I brought it inside. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

Is the soil too dry? Looks like it... sometimes they send up pups when they feel they are dying. Either way, Connecticut!

Hey “Joe Joe”! Yes unfortunately the soil is still too dry. Yeah I still have to do some research to find out how to fix the problem! Yeah I can still hear Cincinnana telling me to do just that!

No way! They really do that when they think they’re dying? How about that!

Aww, thanks! That’s very sweet of you!

Congratulations on your pup, how long did it take for it to produce one? I was wondering, are you in a colder region? That could be the reason for lack of growth.

Thanks so much for your very kind reply! I truly appreciate it! I wish I could say I grew it from a pup but I bought it this year! However I am surprised that after only 6 or 7 months since I have been growing it that it’s got it’s very first pup! Pretty cool, right! I live in Northeastern Ohio and in Zone 6a. So yes it’s cold up here so I had to bring in the plants!

Hiya Re: Florida Variegated and it’s first pup!

Here’s an update! Now I unfortunately after I had posted on this thread the Mom had died back to the soil line. However, she grew back pretty fast! I’m quite surprised about that! Now as for the pup it has kind of died back. Oh, well. I’m still happy anyway!
