Thanks Deb! I love my bluebonnets! I have them in several colors:
Blue and very dark Blue

Very Light Blue

Albino

Migael I have leaves on my baby Pecan. They are always the last of my trees to get leaves. I had two that I planted here two years ago, but the drought took one last year and I just have the small one left.

Hi, just had a thought. I may be a trooper but, not a good paratrooper.
I never seem to land on my feet. A few years ago my husband asked a friend
to dig up the yard. I couldn't wait. While he was at work I ripped out the grass with a garden claw and a shovel. I now have a beautiful raised bed.
Don't you know, I am a lefty and thats the elbow I broke. But, my problems
were last year. I can't wait to get all my veggies into the garden.

Yes, 92. I think God is a prankster. He's up there having a laugh at our
expense. Tomorrow will be in the 80's and friday back to the 60's.
BTW my first ensete sprout came up. It was thirteen days since planting.
For two days now I keep checking to see if any more are there. This came up
really fast so now I keep expecting the rest to keep up the pace.

Our weather guy was talking about the upcoming hurricane season, and they are predicting it will be a very heavy one with the most developing in the Pacific and the Gulf. Let's hope they are wrong on this. At least we can take measures to deal with the heat and cold.

OK it's that time of year again for me. It's a beautiful 70 degree day and I've been outside preparing for some Spring plantings. We are supposed to have weather like this for the next three or four days then it is supposed to rain for 4 days. We shall see!!!!

Local Text Forecast

Jan 27 Tonight
Mainly clear. Low near 40F. Winds light and variable.
Jan 28 Tomorrow
Mainly sunny. High 71F. Winds WSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Jan 28 Tomorrow night
Mostly clear skies. Low 43F. Winds SSW at 5 to 10 mph.
Jan 29 Saturday
Chance of showers. Highs in the mid 60s and lows in the low 50s.
Jan 30 Sunday
Slight chance of a thunderstorm. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the upper 40s.
Jan 31 Monday
Few showers. Highs in the low 70s and lows in the low 40s.

This sounds pretty good to me, but then February 1 - 3 it will be cold again.

Cannas are trying to come up already and they will be burnt back down.

I've had Spring fever since November!

I'm bursting for the warm weather to return. Going to be planting a whole whack of seeds shortly to prepare for the season ahead.

Cool thread, JaNan...first time I've seen it.

I cant wait until spring!!! Another VERY cold 10 days. Most days will be 10F BELOW AVERAGE! Pretty much the same story as the past 2 months! We already had the snowiest month ever recorded for the area, the most snow from a snow storm ever recorded in the area (that was the december snow storm right after christmas) and February is usually the snowiest month!
I just cant wait until april. Last april (I think it was early april too) we had a week in the high 80s and 90s and the last frost last year was in late march (but the frost right before that was back 3 weeks before that). I hope we have a spring like that and not a spring of below average temperatures!
The plants are looking forward to spring just as much!

Sounds like it's a pretty wide-spread ailment. Like HBL, I've had it since November too, when the weather finally changed over to winter rains. Lately, it seems we've been in some sort of suspended animation, with some bulbs and other spring plants showing growth, but at such a slow rate its like looking at a "still life" picture. But, did you notice how exciting each and every new sign of life becomes? Okay, I tried.

I'm dying to unwrap my nanas. I may do it next week. I pulled about 75 potted plants out and put them by the pool and hope they don't have to go back in.
