How can I save this plant?
I am growing a blue java, but it is very similar to a banana plant. I do not know where else to go for help. I have attached pictures of my plant. It is getting discolored and many of the leaves are getting to heavy for the plant to support. Also, it fell over and was leaning on the fence for a couple hours a few days ago. Finally, there seems to be another plant growing in my pot. What should I do? I have been watering with 2 gallons every other day. Below is a link with pictures. https://imgur.com/a/fOy108F

Re: How can I save this plant?
Too much water, let it dry out between watering's. What are you using for soil, is the mulch a thin layer I hope. A Musa Blue Java is a Banana Plant.

Re: How can I save this plant?
I agree with too much water. But also, that size plant needs a much bigger pot. So now is a good time too repot. Make sure the potting soil is fast draining,50/50 mix potting soil and perlite.
Also, whatever are your night time temps? The plant may be going dormant. |

Re: How can I save this plant?
Thank you so much for the advice. I will water less. The mulch is just a thin layer on top. I think the soil is just potting soil. I am not totally sure. I will do a 50-50 mix with perlite. How big of a pot do I need? Also, nighttime temperatures are getting down to low 50s normally with some nights in the 40s. Do I need to bring it inside already? I knew I would have to, but I thought I could later. Thanks again for the advice.
