Help plz what’s wrong with my banana plant
What’s wrong with the plant ?? I just purchased my first banana plant. I repotted the plant in Miracle grow cactus and palm citrus and also added sand to help with drainage. I purchased two adjustable spectrum led grow lights That have been on 12 hrs a day. What Am I doing something wrong? I live in zone 6a attempting to grow indoors.

Re: Help plz what’s wrong with my banana plant
The plant goes into a shock after transplant. Don’t water too much, keep it moist.... but not wet. Should start growing in a couple weeks.

/QUOTE] Nothing your doing wrong. Banana plants(for a tropical plant) need a lot of light . Usually plants recently purchased will decline after they are brought home .....out of the bright greenhouse conditions they were from. Takes a month or so for this to happen. Mine do the same......stick with it and your plant will sort itself out. Do a Youtube search about growing banana plants indoors and pick and choose what will work for you.. There are a bunch of Low cost ideas which you can do a takeaway.. Good luck and do repost your success..Or questions.. |

Re: Help plz what’s wrong with my banana plant
Also, bananas are tropical and the little plant came out of a greenhouse, the plant needs humidity for moisture. ... So mist a couple of times a day while the roots recover from transplanting. The humidity level in the US is low compared to the tropics and the humidity level inside a house is very low. .... This tends to be a problem with young potted banana plants as the roots have not developed enough to support the water uptake needed by the plant even tho the potting soil is moist.
