I ended up building a permanent support structure for a screenhouse over the new patio
It was VERY hot - direct summer sun
I then added some rope lighting.....everywhere
Then added a misting system & a misting fan

Next year I will build a pergola over the picnic table
Wisteria & grapes will grow over top of the pergola

Thanks Tony,

I wasn't sure if the White had color underneath also. I am trying to figure out an unknown from a handful of possibilities the seller had for sale at the time. WI is one more I can check off.

Party Re: Bananas.org Members Yard Photos

Figured I'd show the results so far with my first year of the topical look.

Here's an Orinoco, Alocasia Portadora, hedychium Gingers, and Black Magic, Plus windmill plams.

This gives the scope of the back yard. You can see a Japanese Maple, plus the Pink Sunburst canna, and another windmill.

Hard to see but there's and Alocasia Brian Williams, Bordelon, More hedychiums, the big vine is actually a cucumber. Also in that bed a Musella, and Alocasia Portadora, and a few Lilies.

This is the view of the side of the house with the sunroom. Orinoco plus lilies and calla lilies.

This is the front bed with the Thia Giant in bloom

I must spend too much time in the gardens! I'm always thinking that nothing ever grows or does much of anything.... you? Then I was browsing some old pics and found this one from May:

Now in mid August I've come to the conclusion that some things do in fact grow .... For scale the yucca rostrata in the center is almost 6' tall. The E. Glaucum on the right was from seed and never did much last year or potted over the winter and the newest leaves are coming out about 7' long... same with the E. Maurellii

Maybe if I paid less attention..

Thanks. Unfortunally Im limited with two problems for now. Space in the yard arround the house (in the pics) and watering in other location (among my Olives). If I ever solve even one of them that would be something, oh man..

It's getting a little crazy. By next spring I should have a full blown jungle.

I decided to change back to the old "set up".
Sugarcane zone and then along with the row.I planted a Gluay Namwah and the Jamaican Striped Sugarcane next in order along the row.I will eventually fill the row with Ae Ae and some other varieties.
Pineapple row in the near future also.
