Planting Lady Finger bananas in Sarasota, FL
I was given 6, approx. 10" tall, Banana ‘Dwarf Lady Finger’ (Musa acuminata) plants. I plan on planting them immediately in the ground after some kind person on this forum tells me how and if I need to fertilize them immediately during the planting process and what kind of fertilizer for this somewhat sandy soil.
Thank goodness I found this forum!! |

Re: Planting Lady Finger bananas in Sarasota, FL
Hi Diane, any kind of all purpose fertilizer will work. Bananas are not picky. Just be sure to keep up on the watering they don't like it too dry. Also adding some organic material might help with the sandy soil.
