Unfortunatly , it can be found throughout the bayou state . At least the 'moon walk ' has been forgotten !
We went to our favorite Karaoke place in Vegas recently and this topic came up . Someone sang "Rappers Delight " and several of us tried to breakdance . It was horrible ! But it did bring up the topic of the 80's and all the crazy things folks did back then . If I could go back , I would move my entire portfolio over to 'styling mousse' ! |

Every now and then I see a Mullett here in Jersey. Its a very rare thing, kids point and old ladies cover their eyes!
Recently I was treated to a Mullett driving an 80's T-top Camaro or Firebird! Wish I had my camera... #108: You dread winter, you hate winter, but Jimmy Buffett CD's help you make it through... ~Joe |

you have to move your Bananas because it is taking you an hr and half to get a cup of coffee...... Take coffee cup to kitchen set on counter.. look over see banana plant.. wonder if it needs water... forget coffee cup to inspect plant.. return to seat 20 min later.. look around for coffee remember empty cup on the counter... return to coffee cup.. pour coffee.. see banana again.. wonder if that is a new leaf you see starting... return to plant for another inspection.... 20 min later after inspecting all the other plants return to seat...... dang.. still didn't get coffee.. return to coffee cup.. wonder if the 20 min old coffee will still dissolve creamer.... dump in creamer.. then sugar.. while waiting for sugar to sink creamer.. notice a lower leaf that is brown and could be pruned off.. look for scissors... primp the banana and others.. return to seat... DAMN!!! where is my coffee!!!! return to cup.. too cold to drink now.. microwave.... while I'm waiting.... Awww but they look soo cute!!!! is that a bug???? back to inspecting plants oblivious to the microwave ding.... return to seat... Hmmm.. still no coffee??? Thankfully when you return to the microwave hubby steps in-between you and plants to ensure you complete your mission.... True story!!!! Now if hubby sees coffee cup empty on counter he usually just fixes it for me and brings it.. |

Truly I am lucky.. He honestly could care less about my tropical plants.. but that I am interested in them he tolerates them.. and even helps if and when I ask.. I broke my hand in July.. hubby has helped out more with my plants than I'm sure he'd like.. as well as picking up the slack in house work and waiting on me hand and foot at times... he needs spouse of the yr award!!!
he even acts interested when I tell him some new thing I learned about one of my plants!!! and he puts up with all of THIS coming inside during winter!!! These pics do not show every thing!!! Thankfully I have a bunch of south windows!! #112 notice how many plants you have to stuff in your house and put bananas hardy to zone 6 on the top of your list of new plants to get... I guess I do need to give my wife credit for seemingly appreciating the "cool" factor of 'Ae Ae' when we saw one at the conservatory in San Francisco two weeks ago. Though, when my surprise 'Ae Ae' pup arrived from a friend yesterday, she wasn't nearly as excited as I was!
Speaking of which, I better go see how "she" is doing! ![]() Harvey |

I think my husband needs to read this thread!!!
He DOES appreciate the bananas when they bloom. He will actually come out into the yard and look at them. |

Update #1 on my Ae Ae. Jordon told me that I want to keep the pot as warm as possible to get the roots growing ASAP. I have usually pianted my 5 gallon black plastic pots white white paint so they don't get so hot. I re-potted my Ae Ae tonight in another pot that isn't painted. I then put it on a germination mat under a grow light. I am now shopping for a greenhouse!
