Not sure what they are, but I totally saw one for the first time the other day by the front door to my building. Kinda like a june bug, but larger.

Thanks Tony! It was larger and lighter brown than most ordinary June Bugs. Maybe it was a mutant June Bug.

I thought this was a tarantula. It's body is as big as my thumb and it appeared to be furry to me. But if you enlarge the picture, that is a bazillion babies clinging to her back! It's Charlotte!!!!

Here's today's critter ( It was hiding in a cigar-leaf till he got hit with some foliar spray, then hung out for a pose prior to its demise.)

I love dragonflies! This one flew over my shoulder this morning as I was taking pictures of a hibiscus bloom and it posed very nicely for me. I was unable to capture the iridescence on the wings that makes it look like stained glass. Still very pretty!

I have been dragonfly lucky! This one is the most beautiful I have ever seen. The colors are absolutely incredible - turquoise, purple, bright lime green, orange, black! To me I think this is a once in a lifetime thing - and on a banana leaf! The shots without the flash aren't as crisp, but they really show off the colors. I was afraid the flash would scare him off, but it didn't. They are more detailed, but faded the colors out.

Here he was doing something with the front legs (maybe eating) then took one leg and swiped it over his head like smoothing his hair down.

When they lift their eye visor(whatever its called) to look to the side you can see their pretty colored eyes, a bluish green :^)
