Thanks Sherry, I had to show my mom the pictures of those and she was amazed. I would love some seeds. I wonder the germination success rate of those? I love that color

Love that shot!

Cool that you and your mom liked my shrubs, Cam. The seeds are exceptionally viable, so if you're interested I'll send some later...

I'll check out your shots momentarily, Drew...

Here's my Christmas cactus today in full bloom...

Hope everyone's having a great night.

Too funny!

Thanks Cam.

Make sure your cactus isn't getting too much sunlight and that it's not over watered. I let my cactus' soil dry out completely before watering again.

I can surely send you some Beautyberry seeds.

I guess everyone is asleep already. I was just listening to some music and doing some posting...

Wonder what's going on with your cactus, Cam?

If you can, post a shot of it? That'd be cool...

Guess you won't know if you can grow Beautyberry until you try, eh? I'll send you the seeds and you can experiment.

Great shots Drew, by the way. Your plants all look fantastic!

Most of us are watching the election results I would imagine.

Here is an informative link I found on the "holiday" (Christmas, Thanksgiving, Easter) cactus - think it was what Palmtree was talking about:

RECOGNITION and CULTURE of the HOLIDAY CACTI

It started out really healthy and lush last year and then it deteriorated this year. I'm wondering if it needs a bigger pot. I'll have to post some pics of it tomorrow. It gets salmon color blooms on it that have this faint rose smell to them. I love christmas cactus. I guess I should do research on the beauty berry shrub. I just love the berries.

Thanks Janan. That's interesting because I have been mistakenly calling mine a christmas cactus and from the diagram its a Thanksgiving cactus.

Thanks Janan.

I still believe my plant to be a Christmas cactus, but open to the possibility that it might not be.

Whatever it is, it's gorgeous!

The pictures I've taken don't even begin to do it justice. It's just breathtaking when you're standing in front of it. I love the snow white blooms with the pink centers.

Mine's kind of root bound Cam, and has been for years, so I wonder what else could be your problem. Definitely post a shot of it soon if you can...

Here's my ripening tomatoes today, by the way...

Your welcome Cameron! We all call it Christmas cactus. It isn't our fault though - that's what 90% of our suppliers that sell them to us have them tagged. It's the little points on the leaf or stem segments that are the identifiers.

Yours is a stunning plant Sherry! Yours and Tony's are the prettiest I've ever seen. I have two salmon colored ones that have teeny little buds on them - not even close to blooming yet.

Ok I'll take one tomorrow morning. I think mine is root bound too. Its been in the same pot for 3 years. I also have a problem with my basjoo. One of the pups died. I dont know if I should repot the plant or not or if there is something wrong with the whole plant

That's true Janan. I followed what the tag said and listen to other people calling it a Christmas cactus. I want to buy another one but Lowe's didnt have any last year, which was strange. I dont have room for anymore plants anyways LOL

Cam, mine's been in the same pot for four years but I guess it just depends on how small of a pot yours is in. Looking forward to seeing your shots tomorrow...

A pictures says a thousand words so hope you'll show the Basjoo as well...

Oh yeah Cam, I forgot to ask...

Have you ever fertilized your cactus? Not that it's a real requirement but I do give mine some in Summer and throughout Fall. It's become very full and has many blooms each season. Sometimes it blooms in September but this year not until close to November.

The link said they bloom twice but mine only blooms once and is more like a continual bloom throughout most of winter.

I'm just totally in love with it and might make some more plants from cuttings.

I've fertilized mine sporadically throughout the summer and I did a few foliar feedings. I may get some cutting from a friend. She has a huge plant that blooms throughout the year
