Wow Sherry. Those tomatoes look yummy. I ate my first prickly pear fruit yesterday. It had a good flavor but there were too many seeds lol. I thought about growing them and then I remembered that I have some growing in the yard and they are a pain lol

Yeah I'm pretty excited about my tomatoes ripening. Here's one that I got from one of my plants in the garden. It fell off...
![]() Hoping it will redden up over the next few days... I've never tried prickly pears, Cam. Sounds kinda cool. Thanks Rae, and yes I have been noticing all of Tony's passiflora pics. They're just great. I have seeds for several varieties that I'm trying to establish. Here too were some berries that got hit by frost last night but some are still good. Hoping these will redden also so I can collect the seeds inside... ![]() It's a vine called Solanum Seaforthianum "Gloria". Anyway... How's everyone's day going? What are you making for dinner? I'm having chicken, rice & broccoli...with strawberry yogurt for dessert. ![]() Hope everyone has a great evening. ![]() : ) |

Prickly pears taste like some type of melon, in my opinion. But the one I had was pretty sweet. My loquat seedlings are getting bigger each day.

I grew Loquat too before from seed Cam, and the plant is very attractive & appealing. Did you get the seeds from Zac?
Cool that the prickly pears taste like melons. I love melons. Be sure to collect and save some of the seeds because I might want some sometime. ![]() : ) |

Hey Everybody; speaking of snow, the mountains here in North Carolina are suppose? to get a couple of inches this weekend!
I will be digging 4 huge 18-23' Orinocos tomorrow! Dug three 6' A. "Macrorrhizos" and three huge A. "Portoras" today. Placed each set of three in a 45 Gal. pot and are all safe in the garage as I write to you. We had "ZERO" Trick or Treaters last night. Out of 19 houses on the court, only one couple have children. Happy Growing! Drew |

Re: Insomnia Thread...
Cameron,
It was a Bi*ch; especially trying to hold on to them and place the potting soil in the pots at the same time. These guys are about 4-6'' in diameter with leaves going every wich way. I will take a couple pictures tomorrow and post on this insomnia thread. Going to bed you guys stay up for me! Happy Gardening! Drew |

After all that, sounds like you need some sleep Drew. Looking foward to seeing your shots soon....
G'night. ![]() I just took this nighttime shot a few minutes ago of my Beautyberry shrub. It's very ornamental at night even when headlights shine on it... ![]() Thanks, Cam. ![]() The leaves turned that way on my Hydrangea because I was late bringing it in from the garden and they began to turn color like an Autumn tree. ![]() Hope everyone gets a decent night's rest... : ) |

I didn't even know it looked like that at night but I was taking out my garbage and someone's car pulled into the driveway and I saw the headlights shining on it. I was totally shocked at the
beauty! ![]() I can clearly see why they call it "Amythest BEAUTYberry". What a shrub! The pic I took shows my camera's flash, lighting it up. Those berries stay on the plant all Winter long! ![]() Thanks for the compliment, Cam. I'm pretty thrilled about it. ![]() : ) |

Apart from my Hollyberry shrubs Cam, it's the coolest shrub I've ever owned. Here's what it looks like in the Summertime...
![]() I think I could get a better nighttime shot than that one because I took it real fast but just wanted to give you an idea of how it looks. Thanks again. : ) |

![]() Hope everyone's having a great Tuesday. We are covered in frost again this morning and I think one of these mornings very soon, I'll be waking up to snow. ![]() I'll be sure to post a shot when I do... This morning we're sitting at -2°C...32°F, but it's clear and sunny. Gonna take some more pics later on and do some more things in my garden to get it put away for the winter. Looking so forward to all the things I'm growing inside this winter... So how is everyone today, on this crisp November morning? ![]() ![]() : ) |

to you, too, Sherry, and to everyone else in this thread. A bit cold and very windy here today. No doubt the first frost day will be here Thursday or Friday. Still working on bringing the rest of the plants, the ones I want to keep, inside. Gardening can be a demanding and overwhelming job... Rae ![]()
