Yup, Castor beans are the source of a poison called ricin. Pretty bad stuff. I don't know all the colors they come in, but over here Castor plants are weeds. They come in green or dark maroon. I noticed this called the insomnia thread - because of my time zone (and my work hours), I probably stay up later than any of the rest of you folks. Well, good night all.

Yes Yug, I was told they were weeds in other areas of the world.

Here though, they are gorgeous specimens that people grow in the middle of their front lawn...with children playing around them!

I sure hope garlic isn't bad for bananas. It sure is growing well in the banana container. It is now about 4 or 5 inches tall. It is growing very fast.

The garlic should be fine with the banana plant, especially if the container is large. I grew garlic in a pot once too...indoors!
