New here! Just had our banana plant snap at the base. We suspect that a caterpillar had weakened it and the wind finally snapped it. We have had this plant for about 4 years, so it is near and dear to us. I am curious if this "stump" will recover? We repotted the part that broke off, as it looked like it was rooting a bit in hopes that it would recover. I guess only time will tell. Any tips would be appreciated. We do have a nice pup from this plant, so all is not lost if this big guy does not recover.

The color and texture and soggy soil does not look promising but the plant might surprise you with a pup in a few weeks. No water till you see any activity. Good luck! |
