Hello all, trying to grow cold hardy bananas here in NC. Can pups be seperated for new plants and when is the best time to do it. Thanks and looking forward to the new challenge as I am from Florida originally.

Welcome, from upstate SC, But im temporarily living in charlotte. Yes pups can be seperated to make new plants as long as they are at least a foot tall, preferably larger. It can be done anytime.

Welcome Jay! I get excited at every new pup I spot and somewhere around here, I think, someone documented the process of cutting a pup off. We've got the Wiki and I go through old threads for info by doing a 'search' for what I'm looking for... or just post a question.
