We live in Hillsboro, Oregon which is zone 8a. We have a banana currently that is in its third year and doing well. Last year we purchased a musa sikkimensis darjeeling giant from a nursery in Georgia. It arrived in good condition in the mail in a styrofoam cup. It grew well all summer but did not make it through the winter. We think that it did not have time to get established before the first frost. The Georgia nursery no longer carries this variety. Does anyone have a pup they would like to sell or know of a nursery selling pups. A nursery in the Carolinas has this banana in a gallon container but shipping is $40. More than our budget can handle. Any help would be appreciated.
