Re: Too much or too little water?

Re: How late to dig up Pups?
I agree that you should wait before separating. If you wait til after your trip, then you would still have 6-10 weeks of good weather for the pups and the parent to recover. The longer you wait, the...

I had this happen to me this spring. Every time i would cut the stems, it would just rot away after a day or 2. Luckily every stem that died produced 2 pups and now they're getting huge!

Re: Too small to leave out?
I agree with Dablo- pot 'em up fot the winter, but you could leave 1 or 2 out just to see how they do. That way, if they make it, (or don't) you'll have a better guesstimate of how big and...

Re: Dwarf Cavendish
Iv'e never overwintered a banana indoors, but as far as pups go, 1-2ft should be plenty. Go with a sword-leaved pup if you can wait (unlike me :ha:)

I'd agree with the above poster, except for I only cut mine when they're brown. Don't forget to add the dead leaves to the 'ol compost pile! :ha:

Re: Just took some pics...
Great Yard Randy! I'm wondering what kind of plant that is at 59 and 60. My neighbor has a large tree of that and it's puzzled me for months. Nice lush yard, keep up the great work!

Mine's pretty straightforward. My Dad's parents are from Wisconsin, home of a lot of dairy cows. Not to mention a friend of mine who owns a local beef ranch. Moo's come to be my standard name on any...
