Hi NANAMAN,
Great pix! Wonderful. By the way what is the capacity of the plastic pot/container of the first pic of Ladyfinger either in gallons or liter? I usually use 60L/abt16Gal plastic pot/container which is the max capacity to be handled by manpower. 100L is of course better, but can not be moved without help of a machine. Anticipating your reply and thanks. Stan |

Fruit update... timing is a funny thing. I took those pictures yesterday morning, and after some thunder storms yesterday afternoon, this is the result;
I know that I probably should have propped up the fruit bunch, but I don't want to use any supports that are unnatural looking (pvc, steel,etc...). I started growing bamboo just for that reason, but they are at least a couple years away. If I lose any more bunches, I may have to rethink that position! BTW,that was a FHIA-3, glad there's still another one.

Nanaman,
Leave it alone. If there is still any connection in the flower stem, they will ripen. Never give up.

It snapped clean through, was hanging by a thread literally. Just a small piece of the leaf sheath was holding it. I should have taken a close up picture of it, the core of the stem looked like it had been cut with a laser or something, very clean!

If they have been hanging any length of time, just stand the top of the trunk with the bananas attached in some shady place, and see what happens. You might be surprised. Doesn't always work, but sometimes...

Thanks Mitch, I can't wait until something ripens. The brazilian bunches should be ready in about a month or so. I haven't seen any monkeys yet! lol.

Do you have any Asian nurseries around your area? I have found huge Bamboo poles at my local Japanese nursery that I use to prop my bunches up.
