Re: Black Balbisiana

Ok on that note, anyone who has any extras that won't break the bank, will buy them (not bum them) and give them a good home to boot. :) So you are saying you all mostly buy them from people here...

Unhappy Re: anyone ever get sick?

Think of it as a mother giving forth new life (maybe like the throes of labor). (I'm not helping am I?)

Angry hail

Will the hail do permanent damage to my naners? We have had 3 hail storms in the last couple of days (Yemassee SC) and they are looking scraggly.

I don't have any helpful information for you, being relatively new to growing bananas, but WOW that would be so great to have that many pups! :nanadrink:

greenhouse for overwintering

Has anyone used an unheated greenhouse for overwintering in SC? Got a new house, new bananas, and a new greenhouse. Just not sure what to do with any of it. :kiteflyingnanergif:

Cold Re: Interesting banana hardiness-project in Georgia

Why is it so hard to get plants into Canada, if I may ask? You must be very diligent if you grow bananas up there. I used to live in WV and I finally just gave up.

Smile Re: What did you plant today (bananas)?

Thanks for all the info. I am close to Savannah GA. Will have a greenhouse by winter but dont expect to have a lot of heat in it. So I may have to bring them inside. I will try some hardier ones.

I planted red dwarf and super dwarf, tiny little things, in pots. These are the first I have had in years. We lived in a cold place but recently relocated to SC. Do they grow well in SC and year...

Hiya Hi

Hi-I am originally from WV, now relocated to SC with a renewed interest in bananas. They don't grow so well in WV where it is cold.
