This is the first time I’ve been able to log in since my original post. I always seem to have issues logging into this forum. So these are Orinoco Richard? I tasted a ripe one last night and it was...

Re: Beautiful pictures of mystery bananas after a Florida rain

Thanks bananat. I suppose I’m even more impressed with my other mystery bananas in this row. Since the pstem with all those hands froze (and was cut down) 7 pups have sprouted on the mat. 3 of those...

Re: Beautiful pictures of mystery bananas after a Florida rain

I added pictures of both bunches this morning. Apparently the “Goldfinger “ is also done with female flowers. Now I’m not so sure it’s the same variety that bloomed last December. It really looked...

Re: Beautiful pictures of mystery bananas after a Florida rain

I will add some more photos later today. Sadly the Orinoco (Taylor id’d) only put out two hands apparently. I went out last night and the last petiole to open had male flowers 😖 Unless it plans on...

Beautiful pictures of mystery bananas after a Florida rain

I’ve been adding photos every day or so of my mystery bananas hoping someone has an idea of what they may “or may not “ be. Today we had an inch of warm Florida rain this morning and I got some...

I’ve been trying to ID these two mystery plants (previous post in ID forum) and have added some new pictures. I figure eventually there’ll be enough we’ll be able to figure it out :-)

To recap the...

Re: My other “mystery tc” have bloomed. Help ID

Thanks for the reply. I will continue to add pictures and try to get a step ladder to get some close ups. I’m pretty sure the smaller one is the same as the other of the three he sent me. Only a bit...

Re: My other “mystery tc” have bloomed. Help ID

I added some more photos of the peduncle of each plant today. The taller of the two was harder because it is high up but it’s starting to tilt downwards now so I might get some better photos soon....

Re: My other “mystery tc” have bloomed. Help ID

Here’s the link of the photos I took today. Basically the two plants I the photos are the two in question. Obviously the taller of the two (about 12-13 feet) was supposed to be a blue java. The...

Re: Will these bananas still ripen with no leaves?

Well they are still there and looking maybe slightly fuller (we’ve had two 3 inch rain events the past few weeks) so I’m just playing the waiting game. I’m thinking they’ll be too small to do much...

Re: Is this a Mysore in bloom?

Very interesting..the small red splotches on the bananas are pretty but I cannot seem to find anything that indicates that trait means it is one variety and not another. Also I noticed the flowers...

Re: Is this a Mysore in bloom?

I uploaded 4 new photos to the album. The male flowers started after the 8th hand so a pretty good size for my first bunch I think? One thing that seems off is the finger size. I added a picture to...

Hey there,
I’m in 9b a few miles from the Gulf coast and don’t anticipate a freeze but it look s like we’ll likely be in the upper 30’s this upcoming week for a few hours a few nights. Should I take...
