Default Harvested bunch finally-Orinoco?

So after many months the taller banana plant’s fruit looked ready to harvest ahead of this cold front. The smaller 5 1/2 foot plant (supposed to be Goldfinger) fell over before it ripened. I propped it the day after it happened but I came out one day and overnight the little nanners ripened and fell off?

The larger plant (definitely not blue java as sold) has been a trooper even if it didn’t have lots of hands/fingers. The fruit it does have is fatter than store bought cavendish and almost as long as the biggest I’ve seen at the store. It has been very cold tolerant and resilient to everything thrown at it so far. The last couple of photos are the ripened bunch (Orinoco?) I am going to try any day. If it’s Orinoco like some suggested a few months back I believe I read its best to let them ripen fully before trying? Thanks

Typical ripening time in my climate.

I like Orinoco yellow (no green) with lots of black spots -- not completely black.

Congratulations! How long did it take to mature? About five months?

This is the first time I’ve been able to log in since my original post. I always seem to have issues logging into this forum. So these are Orinoco Richard? I tasted a ripe one last night and it was very good with just a slight tart flavor I don’t find with store bought nanners.

Akua I had to look at my date stamp on the first photos and they bloomed July 1st. The little ones just never filled out or ripened much during the past few months for some reason.

Ironically the third plant that bloomed last November then froze in January looks like its put out a pre flag leaf lol. It’s on a doomed cycle if we have another freeze that I can’t protect it from.

Thanks all and I added a couple pictures of pictures of the banana we ate :-)
