Re: I'm going to The Big Island!
I'm sure Rob would love a visit. I would have you visit my place but it's not really worth a trip out at this point.
I am not sure where any farms are though.
Good luck.

Re: White cotton under leaf, leaves
Looks like white fly. Soapy water and neem will work. If you can bring a hose to it and wash it off that will work great. They are attracted to dry hosts.

Or with a different practice you...

Re: Can you confirm my Suspicion: Black Sigatoka
Are you sure that is the issue at hand? Can you see healthy roots beneath the soil? We have a really bad infestation of fungus gnats due to large quantities of mulch present and they don't seem to...

Re: Proper leaf cutting
It can also be caused by a deficiency. I dont recall which one. One of the tissue culture plants I put in the ground is slightly doing this. It should adjust itself over time. Gave it a large dose if...

Re: For a friend
He's in Austin. He has a pretty good idea of what a banana needs as far as care. I think he would have to try both for starters to be sure they would survive in ground. I think getting quality...

For a friend
Aloha family.
My good friend in Texas wants to grow some good bananas. Can anyone help us out? Preferably Polynesian types. But any will do.

Re: Foliar Spray Mixes for Bananas
We make a FPJ with Crotaleria that works really well. Sugar and plant material is not only safe but easy to make. Use banana or other fruit for a flowering FPJ.
Good luck.
