Just wondering if anyone knows which variety is grown throughout the islands? They look like Gran Nain to me; I'm pretty sure they are a Cavendish but not the Williams one we grow in Australia....

Plot Twist - I stuck the plants with rotten corms in a bucket of water and the parts that aren't rotten are growing roots. Now if the corm had rotted due to cold or a virus, surely the water would...

What are the signs? I've noticed they go from growing vigorously to just completely stopping.

I think it must be one of the first two. I did't see any evidence of weevils..

I always found separating suckers fairly easy but this Williams Cavendish is a very tight, deep clump. It was as if the corm didn't expand at all, but rather that the sucker just grew from underneath...

This Cavendish sucker was seperated from its parent several months ago. It hasn't done anything and has very little corm, but a small amount with a few roots. I am thinking of growing it in a bucket...
