Re: Veinte Cohol Fruit in Pennsylvania

This is a small bunch that I successfully overwintered in the basement for the winter and they ripened up the next Spring. I had to bend the stem over to get it into the basement. In...

Cold Re: What would be best for winterizing banana plants with bananas growing?

I'm not sure if this helps you in your climate, but I am in the SF Bay Area, and we occasionally get weather in the winter that threatens or kills bananas, and certainly could freeze its fruit. One...

Re: Why no roots on 16 inch pup?

A picture would help. A pup can grow from a grow point on the corm or a rhirome on a root. ... Anyway when separating a pup from the corm, gouge into the corm a bit to help insure some roots...

Re: Why no roots on 16 inch pup?

As long as you have some of the corm it'll be fine. It happens but bananas are resilient. In a month it'll take off. Many times my smaller Blue Java don't have roots when I separate, but my RJ...

Re: Why no roots on 16 inch pup?

Each variety grows roots at a different time in their development cycle.

2, Crinkly marks on the leaves. Looks like the leaf has been hit with a waffle iron;

Re: 2020 tropical garden pics!!
